Compuease offers SQL Training at its Ottawa training centre. Our SQL classes are led by trainers with practical experience using language in all sorts of business and government environments. Their friendly and approachable style will help you get comfortable speaking this new language.
SQL (Structured Query Language) is the most widely implemented language for relational databases. Much as mathematics is the language of science, SQL is the language of relational databases. SQL allows you not only to manage the data within the database, but also to manage the database itself. Many data sources are managed by relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and DB2, which rely on SQL to create, access and retrieve information from the database.
Since relational databases have become the most common data storage mechanism for modern computer applications, an ability to use SQL to create, edit, and retrieve that information is essential.
Our SQL training courses will help you:
- Stay in control of your data by composing SQL queries to retrieve your desired information from a database
- Connect to the SQL Server database and execute a simple query Include a search condition in a simple query
- Enhance the value of your data by using various functions to perform calculations on it and share its value with others
- Retrieve data from tables
- Save time by organizing the data obtained from a query before it is displayed on-screen
- Format an output, save a result, and generate a report for that important presentation to your employer, teammates or clients
- Work with advanced queries to manipulate and index tables
- Create views, manipulate data through views, modify the view structure, and drop views
- Create transactions so that you can choose to save or cancel the data entry process
- And more… J
Join us for SQL training classes at our modern training facility in downtown Ottawa. Follow along with the lesson and engage in practical hands-on exercises on a computer of your own throughout the SQL class.
Our SQL training classes are divided into 2 levels:
Uncover the secrets of SQL and start building better relational databases today! Are you a novice, new to database design and SQL, or a manager/analyst who wants to better understand, implement and access SQL? Or are you a web developer writing applications that must access SQL? Perhaps you’re an individual who wants to learn how to write SQL code that you can use to create and access databases within an existing RDBMS. In all cases, this is the course for you. Our SQL Level 1 training class will help you decipher database management systems so you can create more powerful databases and access information with ease. You will learn the core SQL language and how to use SQL to connect to a database and query it. You’ll learn how to perform conditional searches using multiple conditions, ranges, values and patterns. You’ll also be working with functions to perform data calculations and manipulate string values. Of course, your data needs to be organized for you to be able to keep on top of it, so you’ll discover how to properly sort, rank, group, filter and summarize your data to ensure you’re always in the know, and taming the powerful PIVOT and UNPIVOT operators along the way. Combining and comparing the results of two queries will enable you to extend your abilities, while you also master how to present your results.
If you want to grow your skills as you grow your database, you will want to take our Level 2 class. This is where you will come to understand some of the more critical need-to-know advanced features. Here you’ll be performing advanced querying in no time by learning how to use several subquery techniques with unknown values and across multiple levels. In a relational database, data is stored in tables. Since it’s almost impossible for a database vendor to know ahead of time what your data storage needs are, you will for certain need to create your own tables that fit your needs. Therefore, you’ll benefit immensely from learning all about the Create Table statement and adding constraints. And since you don’t want to be at all limited in your perspectives, you’ll learn how to create different views and aliases so as to access your data from all angles. You will be sure to enjoy the sections on indexing your data, making it even more organized and efficient, and creating and committing transactions to round out the class. Don't be daunted by database development anymore! Our Compuease SQL training is just what you need to put you in command of your data. You will be able to take the skills you learn in our SQL training classes and apply them to real-world situations, making you the master of all you survey.
